Today I bring you a great homemade protein ball recipe! As some of you may know I’m all about eating food in its most natural state and I’ve found that store bought protein bars don’t contain very many natural ingredients. So I decided to try and make my very own protein bars/balls. I like making them myself because I know exactly what is in them and the more often I make them the better they get! This is by far the best batch I’ve made and I think the coconut oil is what made the difference this time! I don’t have the exact calories or macros for this recipe but I’m sure you can calculate it if you must!
Coconut Peanut Butter Protein Balls
☆ 1 cup quick oats
☆ 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
☆ ⅔ cup coconut flakes
☆ 8 almonds chopped up
☆ ½ cup peanut butter
☆ ⅓ cup ground flax seed**
☆ ⅓ cup honey filled about 3/4 and then fill the rest with melted coconut oil
☆ ¼ cup dark chocolate chips/chunks
☆ 2 tbsp chia seeds
1. In a medium size bowl, mix together all the ingredients, don’t be afraid to get in there with your hands. All the dry ingredients must be wet.
2. Once it is well mixed, cover your bowl and place in the fridge from 30 – 60 minutes.
3. Shape dough into desired shape and sizes. I like mine to be about two-bites sized!
4. Place in a container and store in the fridge.
**If you have flax seeds but they are not ground just put them in a magic bullet and that will grind them, that’s what I did!
Happy Canada Day!
