This past weekend was Canada Day Long Weekend here so we(boyfriend and I) did a couple different things so I decided to write a post about it. I haven’t written a post like this yet, but I think that I might start doing it a bit more often because I have a lot of family that live far away that read this blog and I’m sure they would like to see what I’m up to! I also think that it’s a good way for me to document what i’m up to, so I can look back on it. So if this is something that doesn’t interest you exit out and come back tomorrow for some new content!
Alright, so since this was an extended weekend I have done more than I normally would on a regular weekend. Most of the weekend was spent with my boyfriend and friends. It was a wonderful weekend filled with sunshine and good company. I also made some delicious food and managed to stick to my vegetarian diet even at a BBQ on my very first week as a vegetarian!
On Friday we went to Fenelon Falls, about 2 hours away from our place. We had never been there before, it was a nice little town but we were a little disappointed with the “beach”. It wasn’t much of a beach to be honest but we made the best of it! We were expecting more because of the pictures we had seen online. The lake was beautiful, we swam a little and had a picnic. It was lovely!
Just posing in front of the lake!
The Lake. I’m not sure what lake this is.
Here you can see the Fenelon Falls.
On Saturday we just took it easy and relaxed. We went for a walk during the day and at night we had a friend come over to our house for a few hours. Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures so I’ll post a picture of my lunch!
This is a toasted tomato sandwich, cucumbers and a fruit smoothie
Sunday was a very busy day! We ventured out to Toronto for the World Pride Parade. It was the first time North America hosted such an event and it was also our first time attending an event like this and I was a bit shell shocked, to be honest. I have a lot to say about this event but I think I may save it for a different post or just keep my opinions to myself because it can be a touchy subject. We went to this event because we were set to march on the Google float but sadly that didn’t happen. We did, however get our Google pride t-shirts. Timing was the reason why we didn’t march in the parade. So instead we headed over to our friends house, where he was having a sausage fest party(everyone brings their favorite sausage) and a grand time was had by all!
This is a picture of a street in Toronto. The streets in the downtown core were closed off to allow the extra 2 000 000 people that came into the city to roam free for the day.
Here I am posing with my Google Pride Shirt!
A picture of the Worlds Biggest Pride Flag. It was much longer than I could capture.
Monday was another relaxing day, we spent most of the day Sunday outdoors in the sun so we were quite tired and needed the day to rest. We did however head down to the lake and walked along the trails.

A selfie of us!
Another Picture of the beautiful trail.
Tuesday was Canada Day, we celebrated by going down to the lake once again, we met up with a few of our friends, had a fire and watched the fireworks. It was a fun yet quiet day. Here are the final pictures of the weekend.
Hanging out with my cat before heading out.
My boyfriends dinner – taco shredded chicken, sweet potato fries and peas.
My dinner – tofu bites, sweet potato fries and peas.
Last but not least is this beautiful Canada Day Sunset!
I hope you enjoyed this post, as much as I enjoyed reliving my weekend. Feel free to leave a comment with a few of your weekend highlights!
