Lately, i’ve been getting back into strictly clean eating. I’ve been eating clean for quite a few years now, but for the last year or so i’ve been clean eating very loosely. I believe in treating yourself and eating junk in moderation. Having said this, when I eat healthy, I hope that what i’m eating is actually healthy and not bad for me.
I’ve heard of Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen before yet I never really paid too much attention to it. Not only have I been eating clean but i’m also diving little bit into more natural living and paying attention to what goes into my foods and products. After learning what GMO’s do and how much pesticides are sprayed onto our “fresh” produce, I feel the need to share this post with you.
I’m not gonna preach and tell you what to eat, because that’s 100% up to you but I want to make you aware. A lot of the produce sold in our grocery stores are full of pesticides. These pesticides are spray onto the food to ensure that no bugs get to them before we do. The thing that is very alarming here is that when pesticides are sprayed onto the produce the people who spray wear head to toe safety gear, as to not ingest or get any of it on their skin. Yet it is safe for us to consume on a daily basis? Yikes!
If you haven’t heard of Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen here is what it is. The Dirty Dozen are the fruits and vegetables that have the highest level of pesticides, so it is best to buy organic. The Clean Fifteen are the fruits and vegetables that have the lowest levels of pesticides, making them safer to buy non organic.
