Welcome to my first beauty favorites post! I have decided to start doing these monthly posts because a. I think it’s fun and b. I enjoy reading what other people are enjoying at the moment and i’m sure I can’t be the only one who likes these things! I’m going to get right into this post because I think that it’s self explanatory! Here’s a quick look at all the products:
Rimmel London Glam’Eyes HD in shade 027 Brick Lane – I bought this palette in a hurry while I was on vacation because I forgot to pack eyeshadow in my makeup bag. I chose this one because I have rarely tried a product from Rimmel that I didn’t like and since I was on vacation I wanted something that I knew was almost fool proof. I am very pleased with this product, it worked very well. I was able to create a few different looks with these 5 shades. I also like that there are instructions on the back of the palette with instructions on how to do a look using all 5 shades! I would say this is a good product for a reasonable price. I believe it was around $6 from Walmart.
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara – This is not just a July favorites but rather a “last 8 months long favorites.” I have been loving this mascara for quite some time now but since this is my first beauty favorites post I decided I’d stick it in here. I have always had a difficult time finding a mascara that I really liked. Some people would call me a mascara whore because I couldn’t chose just one, until I bought this gem! I have no idea what pushed me to buy this mascara because I usually prefer high end mascaras but I’m happy I did! I like that this mascara is so black, it holds my lashes in place, it gives me nice volume and it doesn’t clump up half way through the tube! I usually get this mascara on sale for less than $6. Would recommend this, 10/10.
CoverGirl Brow & Eye Makers in Midnight Brown – I chose to put this here because I use it daily! I really like that it matches my eyebrows and goes on really well without making me look like a mad woman. I like to use this pencil to shape my brow then I use a dark brown eyeshadow to fill them in then I brush them out with a spoolie. These pencils come in packs of two and are around $5 at the drugstore. I think these are a very good choice for the price!
NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder in Shade 704A Warm Beige – This is the very first powder that I’ve used it lots! I seem to have hit pan pretty quickly but it’s lasted months since then. I don’t use this all over my face, I like to brush some in my t-zone and chin area where I tend to get a bit oily throughout the day. I don’t really have much to compare it to because I’ve never used powder before but this works for what I need it for and it was only $2.97 at Walmart and I believe this is regular price. What a bargain!!
Maybelline Master Hi-Light By FaceStudio Highlighting Blush in shade 10 Nude – I LOVE this blush! I think that it’s perfect for Summer. It gives me just enough of a natural pinky glow so that I look put together but not sick or clownly-like. To be honest I haven’t figured out how it works as a highlight too because to me it just looks like a great looking blush. I don’t really mind that it doesn’t work as a highlight because when I bought it I was looking for a blush more than a highlight, so just a heads up if you’re looking for both!
Ion Inspired by Nature Nourishing Oil Treatment – I bought this product in a time of desperation when my hair was crispy fried! Yes, it was as bad as you envision and let me tell you when this stuff hit my ends they guzzled this stuff up nicely! My hair was dry, coarse and had just been through bleaching and dyeing. It was pretty much dead. I was trying lots of different products and nothing was working to smooth out my ends and baby hairs. I decided to give this a try and I was amazed. After only using it once, I could see what it was doing to my hair. I could actually pass my fingers through my hair without it breaking off, for the first time in months! I use this stuff every few days and I only put it on the ends. I really believe that this stuff has helped me with getting my hair back to normal. Definitely give this a try if you have really dry hair. I got it from Sally Beauty Supply about 6 months ago and I haven’t even used half the bottle yet, you only need a little at time so it lasts a while and it was only $6.99.
I just realized that all of my products this month are very affordable for everyone and I like that! I do use more expensive products but for some reason I have been enjoying cheaper stuff too. I don’t think that name is everything and sometimes I think that you pay solely for the name. If you like these kinds of posts, come back in a few hours because I will have another Favorites Post but it will be related to health and fitness instead of beauty!
See you soon,
