Welcome back for another edition of Motivational Monday. I’m thrilled to have you here today! This is the 9th post in this series and every week I tackle a new subject that I think is captivating and interesting but will also help motivate y’all. Today, I’ve decided to talk a little about Never Giving Up & Mind over Matter. You’re probably thinking oh, yeah yeah, nothing I haven’t heard or read 100 times before. Well you’re gonna hear about it once more because I don’t think that it’s sticking in peoples head!
I started my journey 4 years and 8 months ago and let’s be honest for a minute, I never thought that I would be where I am today. About 2 years ago, I remember being around 130lbs and I feeling like I was stuck there forever, I wasn’t losing anymore or gaining either. So I remember telling myself “Well, I guess this is where you’re meant to be.” And I just sort of got comfortable and okay with that idea. Needless to say that 2.8 years have passed since then and I’ve lost another 15+ lbs, gone done dramatically in Body fat percentage, gone down 6 dresses sizes and I put on a lot of muscle mass, as well. I had to insert that little bit of history because I want to make it clear to everyone that if you Never give up & you set you mind to something you will achieve it! There have been countless times where I’ve been running and I repeat to myself constantly throughout the run, Mind over Matter, Mind over Matter, Mind over Matter. Believe it or not it works. Same thing for for never giving up, if 2.8 years ago I would have thrown in the towel, I’d be worst off than I was when I started.
You have to realize that yes, you may be losing weight and that’s great! But you need another reason or reasons, for me, that is health. You only have one chance to live, and I want to live the longest, healthiest life I possibly can, not only for me but for my future kids and grand-kids, I want to be here and healthy for all that life has to offer. Find your reasons, quick your excuses & never give up!
I hope you have a great week and remember: It’s never too late to change your ways!
