I almost forgot that today is Workout Tips Wednesday and I was going to do a favorites posts but i’ll do that tomorrow instead! I’m liking this new weekly series on here because working out is something that I truly enjoy in life and I really want to spread the love of working out! Trust me, it is possible. I never thought that I would be writing, saying and thinking that I love working out. Part of the reason that I love it so much is that I know how good and important it is for my health and these days that is the driving force behind most of what I do. I strive to educate people on health and fitness because I think that if people educate themselves and have knowledge on a subject such as this it is very hard to ignore. Your health is so precious and it should be treated as such!
1. Change it Up – this is important for a few reasons. First is that your muscles are smart and they remember what you do. I believe this is called muscle memory so if you’ve been doing the same workout for 3 months, for example, you should switch it up to “shock” your muscles. This could help you get out of that plateau and gain more muscles! Second is that you will be less likely to get bored and more likely to stick with it! there are several sources you can use to help you find a new routine. For Example: Pinterest, Google, Apps, My Tumblr Blog.
Here are two full body workouts that you can try out or pick from to make your own!
2. Fuel up before & after – In order to get the most out of your workout and to be able to perform at the level that you want, you need to feed your body properly. Calories are fuel for your body, just like your car won’t run if it’s empty of gas your legs won’t want to run if your body is empty of nutritious food. It is also important to you refuel after your workout because your muscles and body will be torn and tired and they need to recuperate. It is also VERY IMPORTANT that you stay hydrated throughout your workout, no scratch that, throughout your day!
Here are some examples of foods to eat before and after your workouts, remember that you are not limited to these, they are just examples!
3. Rest Days – Who doesn’t like a rest day? I sure love them! Although I don’t always want to take one I know how important it is to give your body time to recover from all that hard work you’ve been putting it through! Rest days will also help you avoid unnecessary injuries that can keep you out of the workout game for weeks or months. You workout because you care for yourself well you should be taking at least one rest day a week for the same reason!
Workouts come in all different shapes and sizes, like humans do! And so long as you’re moving and getting your heart rate up you’re getting a workout in! It’s time to change our minds and bodies. You’re body will do whatever your brain tells it to, so get off that couch, chair or bed and get moving!
I hope that you enjoy these kinds of posts, please comment below letting me know if you do like these or not as this is the only way that I can monitor what you like seeing on here!
